214 N. Cedar St., Summerville, SC, 29483
(843) 419-6381 - Venue Website

Farringdon Bistropub is a unique restaurant concept for Summerville, SC. Farringdon is our take on a Gastropub. Wikipedia defines a Gastropub as “a British term for a Public House which specializes in high quality food a step above the more basic 'pub grub.'"
Farringdon Bistropub's goal is to provide the residents and visitors of Summerville a new type of eating place that bridges the gap between booze joints and upscale restaurants. We will serve locally sourced, freshly cooked seasonal dishes at accessible prices. We are the friendly neighborhood pub where flip flops meet the culinary elite for beautiful, simple, fresh food and great beer and wine.

great food and awesome beer

My wife and I went to Farringdon on Sat. to watch the games. We were excited to find out that they now served the full menu at the outside bar. I had the pork chop and my wife had the fish tacos. Both were amazing. Great tap beer selection as well. After eating at the bar we moved out to the yard were we watched the Bama game on the big screen projector. If the night couldnt get any better they also had a great band playing. All in all the best dinning experience we have had in a long time.

Don't go for the food.

Sat at the outside bar last Saturday night and tried to listen to the band. They were so far away that no-body really had any interest. They even waved at one point to see if anyone was listening.
The bartender could not keep up with the 12 people sat around the bar, and I am convinced she was making prices up as my tab was an even $10 and so was the person's next to me. How convenient!
Went inside to eat. Two words-Not Good. The fries are just weird. Soggy, cold, uncrispy. When you want fries, you want them because of the nice, crispy, salty hot taste everyone likes. These were terrible.

Nice try but not really there

I give the owners credit for trying. And they did go a step above the usual bar food. It's not really worth what they charge though - kinda bland and expensive for basics (fish and chips for $15?? C'mon that's crazy). I think they might think they are gourmet, which a gastropub is not. Need some draft beer!

About time

This new concept is what summerville needed. I'm sorry, what the charleston are needed. The food is absolutely perfect. Every time I am there the atmosphere is great, the price is right, and the beer and food is top notch. The duck is superb, the osso bucco falls off the bone. The best grits I've ever had. The way the Chef puts flavors together is amazing. Did I mention the seafood! You can still taste the ocean in it. I never had tile fish till then, and It is my new favorite. I live in Mt. pleasant and it is totally worth the drive. There is not a chef in this town that can stand in the same room with this guy. He is not another hack out of a culinary school. He has put his time in and it shows.
