Frances Conroy

Studied under John Houseman and Marian Seldes at Juilliard. Made her film debut in 1979 in Woody Allen's Manhattan (as a Shakespearean actress). Won a 1989-90 Drama Desk Award for her performance in The Secret Rapture . Has appeared in multiple plays written by Arthur Miller, the first of which, The Last Yankee, earned her a 1993 Obie Award. Replaced Blythe Danner late in rehearsals for the 1998 off-Broadway premiere of Miller's The Ride Down Mt. Morgan, which later netted her a Tony nomination… Show more
