Charleston Couture
The Charleston Museum presents an original exhibition, Charleston Couture, in its Historic Textiles Gallery, through Nov. 4. The exhibit showcases more than 50 of the Lowcountry's finest garments and accessories from the 1770s to the 1970s. Charleston Couture includes true haute couture garments from designers such as Charles Frederick Worth and Mariano Fortuny brought back by privileged Lowcountry residents from their travels, as well as high style pieces made by local dressmakers.
