Baked Charleston, a new specialty bakery and coffee shop, opened in late 2008 at 160 East Bay Street in Downtown Charleston, S.C., much to the delight of Lowcountry sweet tooths. Baked offers beautiful hand-made pies, cakes, cookies, tarts, cupcakes, brownies, marshmallows, muffins, quiches, scones and various other confections and breakfast dishes, all of which are made fresh daily. In addition to baked goods, the shop serves up Stumptown Coffee from Portland, Ore., and offers free wifi, encouraging guests to linger as long as they like.
